I've uploaded a new release, only small bug fixes, currently mostly working on the next snapshot but this is a very important release as it updates Halite to use libtorrent 0.14.9.
Download it from SourceForge.net
Thanks all.

Could you, please, contact the admin in what.cd to put this client in their white list ? ![]()
Thanks,
From Waffles we have a Happy Surprise:
"If you're using a client that is not in that list, it's still allowed. No need to ask. However, since so many of you do ask, we're going to give a partial glimpse into the infinite number of clients that are still allowed:
.
.
.
. Halite 0.2.9 and newer"
YUPPIIE, Waffles didn't ban Halite ![]()

Yet another release without any updates on SVN. What's up?

I switched to git and had been using a private repo while I got the hang of it. I've setup an 'official' public repo just now at http://gitorious.org/halite/halite.
The subversion repo will continue to function for managing the translations for the time being.

Hmmm, git is not a good choice, too many disadvantages compared to SVN. (And I can't use the CommitMonitor with it to stay up-to-date.)

Yeah, git pretty much sucks from a user point of view, at least on Windows. There are no decent GUI tools and it's commandline parameters are plain weird when compared to svn. Well, whatever. Btw. I'm getting "remote HEAD refers to nonexistent ref, unable to checkout."

Hm, the Git GUI is actually fine, but compared to TortoiseSVN it rather sucks indeed.

a-hem, gentlemen, may I remind you we're in the "Halite release" topic?
Do please stick to the topic, thank you. ![]()

Releasing policy is actually on topic.
Tw@in 28 says: "Fine, then, just as long as this does not turn into a <<I love/hate git>> topic, ok?"
tux says: "Fine, then, just as long as Eóin actually considers our critics without having them removed first. ;-)"

just to let your know 0.15 of libtorrent is now out

The libtorrent 0.15 is actually quite major, and changes the way some disk writing is done.

i have a question. with utorrent 2.1 alpha on a privite torrent i get max my speed 500k with utp off/on with encrypt on
but with halite 0.3.2.2 with encrypt i only get 25k max
any reason for that?

uTraitor is an evil, greedy client. That's all.

The version in dev is based on libtorrent 0.15
what?

He means; the new version of Halite which is in development is based on the new libtorrent 0.15
.
About uTorrent is true like Tw@in 28 said (see his link). New versions getting banned at several private torrentsites cause of uTp which makes uTorrent cheat compared to other clients downloading the same file.
